Reading Response

1. These essays are definitely less formal than the other kinds of essays I'm used to reading and writing. The essays I've written have mainly been about content, sources, and what your argument is. Josh's essays and the gaming addiction one are more about telling a story and getting a message out about themselves to the reader.

2. The Purpose of the "I Kept Playing" essay was to show readers from the author's experience how dangerous gaming addiction can be. You can lose track of almost everything. The author lost his job, wasn't eating right, wasn't sleeping enough, and all he focused on was playing that game. The audience for this essay would probably be people who play videogames or families of people who play a lot of videogames because they would be interested in someone else's side of the story.
